Jacqueline Larson (she/her)

I was born in and shaped by Alberta though I’ve also lived in Vancouver. And Jasper. And Winnipeg briefly. And Toronto for a couple decades. I’m a seeker, a Buddhist, a meditation instructor, an occasional gardener, a jumper in lakes, a kitchen dancer. I’ve worked as a sessional instructor, freelance writer, Parks Canada information person, waitress, bookkeeper, and even wrote parking tickets but most of my livelihood has come from scholarly editing. I’ve published poems in a number of journals and a book of poems called Salt Physic (Pedlar Press 2008). Women have been gathering in circles forever to hold each other in stories of birth and death and loss and grief and uplift each other in our joy too. This circle of women does just that. I love how we show up in one state of mind and are changed — empowered — by sharing and singing together. My superpower is synthesizing diverse things to create a new thing (aka alchemy), lateral thinking, and enthusiasm.
