Description
Improv Therapy is a specialized improvisational class designed to help individuals manage stress/anxiety/nerves/depression through creative expression, mindfulness, and spontaneous interaction. The focus is on building confidence, enhancing social skills, and promoting a sense of community in a low-pressure environment. Participants engage in fun, supportive exercises that allow them to practice being in the moment, and shift their focus from self-consciousness to collaboration and play. By getting out of their heads and embracing uncertainty participants develop flexibility and gain tools to handle anxious thoughts and feelings in everyday situations.
This class is taught by Community OutWitch Founders: Lisa Brooke, an alumna of both Toronto and Chicago Second City, is a long-tme instructor in the Toronto SC Training Program and Shoshana Sperling, Expressive Arts Therapist in training at The CREATE Institute and BFA specialization in Education and assisted by another Expressive Arts therapy student, Heather Lynds.
Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and wear comfy clothes to play in.
